blank canvas

So….lately I’ve been really interested in painting. It’s a hobby that I’ve enjoyed off and on the last couple of years, but don’t misunderstand—it’s something I enjoy, not necessarily something I’m good at! 🙂

I think one of my favorite moments is the very beginning…with so much white space on the blank canvas—so clean and fresh—the possibilities are just lingering. There’s a certain freedom that comes with a blank canvas…but also a certain anxiety for me. What do I paint? What colors do I use? What if I mess it up?

It got me thinking about creating. I love to create. And last weekend, when I painted for 10 hours on Saturday, I felt like God reminded me that my desire to create was first seen in Him, the ultimate Creator. I desire creating because I am made in His image…therefore, He beacons me to worship Him through enjoying the process of painting—start to finish.

He gently whispered…don’t worry about perfection…don’t stress about anything….just create. And enjoy.

So…that’s what I have been doing. It’s been really fun and worshipful for me.

Here are few of my (His) creations…posted a few new ones from this past saturday!
