The heavens proclaim…

During my time in Costa Rica, I was literally awe-struck at the beauty of God’s creation.

as I spent time in God’s Word, I kept coming across verse after verse proclaiming God’s authority over creation, and the active part creation plays in groaning for the return of Christ and restoration to full glory, as it was intended.

 passages like:

psalm 147

“He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names…He covers the heavens with clouds; he prepares rain for the earth; he makes grass grow on the hills…He makes his wind blow and the waters flow.”

psalm 114: 7

“tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord.”

psalm 97:5-6

“the mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of all the earth. the heavens proclaim his righteousness, and all the people see their glory”

psalm 66:1, 4

“shout for joy to God, all the earth;sing the glory of his name…all the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name.”

romans 8:19-21

“For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.”

I mean, it’s hard to imagine a more beautiful scene, but I do believe that one day even creation will be redeemed.

But until then….I will marvel and swim in the epic beauty of His canvas.

  1. I totally understand the awe-induced wonder when you see God’s creation. Once when I saw a great mountain in Austria, all I could do was sit and cry from the majesty of God’s hand.

P.S. – Can’t wait to serve with you in 3 months!
