PILAT-day 5 (aka-i’d like to buy a vowel)

today continued our study of sounds, particularly vowels. today challenged my brain a bit as it became a little harder to distinguish certain vowel sounds—to our English-speaking ears, they sound almost exactly alike, but to people of other languages, there are distinct differences.

anyway, whenever we break up to do drills, we are in smaller groups and spend alot of time listening, repeating and then transcribing. here is a picture of several different transcriptions that we had to do (the teacher says a word, and we write it phonetically). just another day of language training!!!!

  1. Hang in there with those language lessons. I remember the early days of studying Chinese – it was all worth it!

  2. This hurts my brain just looking at it. šŸ™‚
I love reading these updates! Praying for you!
